This was, bar none, the best event we've ever done. The information presented was outstanding and incredibly useful. Earl Taylor was an exceptional presenter--a gifted teacher who kept us all interested and engaged the entire day. What a gift to understand so much better now the truth about how our Constitution came to be and the great wisdom of our Founders in constructing it the way they did. It really is a document that can solve our problems if we will just restore its principles.

The film was excellent, full of clear and damning information. Even more impressive, though, was the number of people who came to learn and who want to be active in moving Wisconsin's educational system back in the right direction. Really hoping we get some good school board candidates for next year out of this crowd!!

Go find the facts!

Excellent discussion on items for our Open Meeting presentations in the new year. Prioritized a couple of items based on elections that will be happening in the spring (County Board exec, and Supreme Court Justice). Discussed where we need to start seeding some new groups. Received update on 2nd Congressional District coalition meeting in Jan. Focused on our legislative initiative for comprehensive voter reform and how we can help move that forward. Had brief discussion on the open hearing on the State union contracts, and also discussed that following the Nov. elections we now need to keep an eye on our legislators and hold their feet to the fire. Continued our discussion of Hayek's "Road to Serfdom" book by looking at Chapter 8.

We were disappointed since it was basically a rehash of his show. We were expecting to see some positive steps to take as solutions to the mess the country is in. Instead at the end he seemed to give up and fell back to the 40 day plan. Spending $40 for the two of us to see the show, while we are trying to save money was counter-productive. We love Glenn, but we wish we would have passed on this one.

Good discussion on our progress on a 2nd District grassroots coalition. We selected a legislative activity to work on which is the Firearm Freedom Act. Also briefly discussed how we go about involving new members in our activities. Discussed chapters 3 & 4 of Friedrich Hayek's "The Road to Serfdom". Good insights from group members, and will read chapter 5 for next week.

Informative session with Mike Herl, chairman of the Dane County GOP. He addressed the upcoming elections, and the plan to move forward on Nov. 3 to continue the momentum. Interesting perspective from someone who is not in lockstep with the higher-ups in the Republican establishment. Seems to be someone that grassroots organizations can work with for the benefit of our State and Country. Also did further discussion of our work in forming a grassroots coalition on both a 2nd Assembly District level and a State level. Things are starting to become more concrete as we brainstorm ways to educate the public on constitutional principles and issues.

Good discussion & debriefing on recent grassroots coalition meeting. Moved forward on our goals to establish a meaningful mission statement, and gain and involve new members. Discussion of Chapter 2 of "The Road to Serfdom" by Hayek was spirited and well thought out. Many good insights into Hayek's message, and the eerie parallel to events that are happening today.

Continuing discussion on moving forward to and beyond the November election. Decided to all read Friedrich Hayek's "The Road to Serfdom" so we have knowledge of free market economic principles to hold our politicians accountable. Also discussed participation at training session in Oconomowoc on Oct. 9 for grassroots activists.

Excellent discussion about how we move forward following the primary elections. Discussed organizational efficiencies, and possibilities of working with other groups in a congressional district coalition. Did a quick debriefing of the election results and what that could mean to us. Good participation from all of those present.

Excellent discussion about what we can do to move forward during the last days of the primary season. We need to seriously work for the candidates of our choice and help get them elected. Our voter guide on the U.S. Senate race is a good tool to educate people on the issues. Good ideas about things we can work on once the election season is over. An educational component for children would be a nice addition for us.

Excellent presentation and discussion about how we educate other's concerning upcoming elections. Will be developing a framework to show people clearly how we value our constitutional principles, and where the issues fall in that framework.

Very informative. Peter presented his platform well, and answered questions honestly and openly. He considers himself a conservative, and defined what he meant by that. Excellent questions from attendees, and everyone got a clear idea of where Peter is coming from on issues of importance to the 2nd Congressional District.

I was able to listen to all of Mark. I think Mark's vision for the future of sustainable energy is very important. Maybe the most important. Accepting that oil is the reality of today does not mean we have to irrationally strangle all of it potential successors in the crib. As a movement, the conservatives will continue to look like paleolithic anti-intellectuals when we thoughtlessly savage solar power like Kirsten did during the session. I feel that we conservatives too often take knee-jerk opposition to "liberal causes", like global warming. Global warming as caused by the burning of fossil fuels is the impetus behind moving from oil to other energy for liberals. What about national security, why fund despots in the mid-east? Why is it that as a conservative I can reject federal spending as a drag on our posterity's future , but if I dare suggest moving from oil as soon as possible for the future of the planet I get accused of being a tree hugging hippy?! Contradiction?
