Stand for Wisconsin's Health Care Freedom Amendment

This location is shown only to members

Friends,

We have an important opportunity to make a huge difference in the fight for Wisconsin's Health Care Freedom Amendment (SJR-62). We will be joined by others in this scheduled effort, but we need your presence in order to make as deep an impression as possible. Getting this legislation passed would ensure that Wisconsinites could opt out of the federal health care mandate.

Again, Senator Erpenbach is currently stalling SJR-62 in the Health, Health Insurance, Privacy, Property Tax Relief, and Revenue Committee that he chairs. We've been bombarding him with phone calls to let him know we want a public hearing and a committee vote. Now, we are politely but firmly taking the next step.

Remember, we only have a short time to get this legislation out of committee so that it can be considered and voted upon yet this year (deadline: April 22nd).

Please find a way to be on site for this important show of solidarity concerning our constitutional rights. Bring as many people with you as you can. Location details below.

Joint PUBLIC HEARING Assembly Committee on Elections and Campaign Reform Senate Committee on Labor, Elections and Urban Affairs. Assembly Bill 895, Senate Bill 640, Assembly Bill 892, Senate Bill 645? All proposing changes in how Wisconsin runs elections 10:00 AM 412 East State Capitol. Being informed is great but having all this show up less than 24 hours before it happens really does not help very much, I have no chance to contact anyone else before its too late.

What a great opportunity to see politics at work. It was interesting to listen to the biased questions that the press asked. You can really tell they have an agenda. We didn't get what we wanted, however I suspect there will be political hell to pay come November!

Very dedicated group of people helping support the Republicans on the committee that has been handed the Health Care Freedom Amendment. Very good explanation of the Amendment by the committee members, and by Tim Dake from Wisconsin Grandsons of Liberty. Reception by Sen. Jon Erpenbach was disappointing, as he has his mind made up that he will not give this a hearing. At this Easter time, it is ironic that Sen. Erpenbach has decided to play Pontius Pilate and wash his hands of the concerns of the people of Wisconsin. He has hidden behind the federal lawsuit against healthcare which has been filed, and does not want to recognize the rights of the people of Wisconsin. He has taken his stand, and we will take ours. We are not quitting.
