Friends and Fellow Patriots!
We are finally ready for Saturday's 9/12 Rally, the ONLY event taking place in Madison. There is word that people from other like-minded groups will be joining us--from Eau Claire, Sheboygan, and possibly Jefferson. We are starting to develop a true network!
The rally will take place on the UW-Madison campus. A Badger game that day will ensure a LOT of traffic in the selected area. We are guarding the precise location rather closely until the last minute to ensure security. I will be posting the gathering point early on Friday evening.
Plan to meet at that spot at 8:45am. A few brief but important instructions will be provided at that time. We will then walk to the actual rally point together.
Street parking fairly close to the gathering point should not be a problem prior to 8:30am. Be aware, however, that as it gets closer to 9:00am, it will become quite difficult to find anything near campus. For that reason, you should plan to arrive slightly before gathering time.
Bring a sign if you can. Ideas for topics include:
1) The need for the American people to unite
2) The importance of our Constitution
3) The threat to our republic and Constitution
4) Messages to our legislators about any of the above
Be creative, but be respectful! We do not want to discredit this movement or Saturday's action in any way.
We will have a few extra signs on hand if you don't get a chance to make one of your own.
Please do not raise your sign until we are all in place at the actual rally location. You don't have to hide it in a garbage bag or anything, but we want to be unified in our actions.
We will rally until about 12:00pm.
Afterwards, at 2:00pm, the Rock River Patriots are staging a Tea Party on the steps of the Jefferson courthouse. I, for one, plan to be at both events. It's going to be an exciting day all the way around!
That's it for now.
As noted, I will post both the gathering and rally points early on Friday evening. Watch for that information.
Pass word about the event to those like yourself who are concerned and want to act to restore this country to what our founding fathers intended. Invite and bring as many of them as you can.
I am looking forward to making an impact with you on Saturday.
UPDATE!!! UPDATE!!! UPDATE!!!
As promised, I am back to tell you precise locations for tomorrow. There are two important locations. Please take note of both:
Location #1 - Gathering Point
Most of us should plan to meet at the corner of N. Prospect and University Ave at 8:45am. We will walk to the rally point together from there.
Location #2 - Rally Point
We will be stationing ourselves in groups on the UW campus on either side of the bridge that crosses Campus Dr. This bridge is not far from Randall Stadium
I have just posted two PDF documents on the FILES portion of this site. The FILES tab is third from the bottom on the navigation bar at the left of the page. One of the documents is a map. The second contains details concerning the event: logistics, guidelines for comportment, parking, shuttle, who to go to in case of a problem, etc.
For security reasons, only those who belong to this group will be able to access those documents. So if you are bringing guests, please download the documents and pass them on to those individuals via email.
If anyone has any additional questions, they may contact me via email this evening or early tomorrow morning.
I see we are getting a good turnout from our group. FABULOUS!! I look forward to seeing those who are participating tomorrow.
Today was our day of remembrance. As for tomorrow, in the immortal words of Todd Beamer: LET'S ROLL!!!!
We were small in numbers--between 25 and 30 people (including 2 adorable children). BUT, we had people from all over the place--Cable, Racine, Green Bay, Lake Mills, Monroe, Waunakee, etc. VERY ENCOURAGING to have people from the top of the state to the bottom with us. The location was prime--TONS of foot and car traffic. Small numbers WILL GROW!
I was not able to make this event, though I did make the one in Jefferson and was quite impressed with it. Being new to the are from Phoenix where I was very active in events like this it made me feel good to know that a small town like Jefferson could get the 200 or so that I emistae were there.
Hopefully our efforts will move forward from here!
