The "Can You Hear Us Now" Rally will take place on November 23rd, 2009, from 8am to 6pm inside the Capitol Building in Madison.

Wisconsin recently made the list of states most likely to experience financial collapse. In October, Forbes ranked the state the 3rd-worst for business climate. And as of September, the state was suffering from 8.3% unemployment. Our legislators need to change course. But they've demonstrated that they won't do it unless we insist.

As part of a national grassroots event that will be taking place in state houses across the country that day, we'll calmly and respectfully gather in the State Capitol Building to tell our state and federal legislators that it's time to embrace smaller government. The legislature isn't actually in session that day, but...

We'll have pink slips available to tell them that it's time to reduce government, spending, and taxes so we can get this state turned around. We'll also have mock ballots to inform our officials that we're ready to vote them out on principle of they don't start embracing common sense solutions.

Messages to state legislators can be hand-delivered.

At 1:00pm, in Room 425 SW, we'll have a collective drop-off of messages that will be forwarded to federal legislators in Washington, D.C.

Come join us! Together let's send the message that big government, out-of-control spending, and over-taxation aren't good for anyone--but individual liberty and Constitutional freedoms are.

People are encouraged to come as early as possible and stay as long as possible.

Bring blankets and pillows to sit on.

Signs are encouraged, but please don't put them on sticks! We want the Capitol Police to know we're entirely friendly. Instead, make a message you can wear, hang around your neck, or prop up next to you.

When you find a place to sit, just make sure you're not blocking stairwells, entrances or exits of any kind. We don't want to break fire codes!

Parking for 1,000 has been reserved at the Alliant Energy Center ($5.50 flat fee). A shuttle will run to the Capitol every 40 minutes.
