The Wisconsin 9/12 Project Pages

The Wisconsin 9/12 Project works both independently and in conjunction with other grassroots groups in the Madison area and throughout the state in order to achieve:

  • Limited government
  • Reduced government spending
  • Lower taxes
  • The preservation and restoration of constitutional principles and freedoms

As a non-partisan group, we collect information on candidates. We post such data on this site and/or circulate it elsewhere as a service to voters. Members are free to make their own choices about candidates. In fact, we strongly encourage members, as individuals, to seek out and wholeheartedly support those candidates who, in their judgment, share the above-listed aims.

Current initiatives include:

  • Insistence on a companion bill to SB 93 in the State Assembly
  • Advancement of State Senate Bill 93 - We are working respectfully to remind state legislators of the plain language of the U.S. and Wisconsin Constitutions, which both guarantee the right of the citizens to keep and bear arms with no attached mandates.

A few prior events and issues on which the Wisconsin 9/12 Project has focused its energies include:

  • "While You Were Out" - In November of 2009, citizens from 14 Wisconsin counties joined us at the State Capitol Building during a legislative break to deliver messages for their state and federal legislators.
  • Eliminating Regional Transit Authorities - The state legislature's Joint Finance Committee, thanks to the voices of many Wisconsinites, has included in the 2011-2012 budget a repeal of Wisconsin's RTAs, unelected, unaccountable taxing bodies.
  • Shoreland Zoning - We successfully played a role in staving off Dane County's unconstitutional plan to undermine private property rights, reduce property values, and raise property taxes.
  • The Healthcare Freedom Amendment - Expected to advance under a new Republican majority, this amendment to our state constitution would guarantee the right of all Wisconsinites to continue to choose the type and level of their health care.
